- Fear: Get it Gone! -
I haven't posted a personal blog in a while, and I figure it's about time (ok, so I am procrastinating studying for exams...and nervous for exams, but hopefully this will help you as you are going through life...I know it will help me think over this truth). I was reading in Romans 8 this morning and verses 15 and 16 really stuck out to me:
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Ok, so I am a worrier. It is a fact of life. I worry about everything, and I find ways to fear everything (as in: future plans, how I will do on my exams, what if I don't do well, what if I can't meet peoples expectations....). Generally, I try to appear as though I have everything organized (my super OCDness...), but inwardly I am often less confident then what I am putting across to people. Recognizing this about myself makes the application of these verses pretty obvious: I have been given the Holy Spirit, not so that I can waste my days fearing, and worrying, but so that I can cry out to God in my weakness and He will show himself strong!
Simply put, I want to challenge all of you, let's ditch fear! Said goodbye to, "what if" and stand in the light of our Savior! If you are preparing for finals, as I am, dive in! Take hold of your studies and trust that God will use you for amazing things! Even if that grade is not perfect, God will use it for his glory! Our job is to do our best! To let go of the spirit of the flesh and of fear to risk it all to glorify our God in whatever position he has placed us in!
No go, what are you doing reading this post! :)
Let's own this and live for our amazing God!
