- California Wedding: Jenise and Joel -

Alright, this post is LONG over due (I think I say that to often...), but better late than never!
In October you may remember that I visited my awesome friend Kristen Booth!  While I was there I got to second shoot two weddings with her (view the other wedding HERE), and I've got to say this one was stunning!  Like, perfect stunning!  God painted the sky a beautiful coral and blue, provided a rainbow just as the vows were read, and the lighting was a photographers dream!  Here are some of my favorites from the wedding, and make sure to check out Kristen's fantastic shots from the wedding HERE!

Before I go on I must say that, not only was this one of my first outdoor weddings (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!), but it was my very first wedding with a "first look".  I must admit that I used to be skeptical of first looks...with the tradition and all, but for real!  This was the only chance they got all day to share an intimate moment with each other, and it's the wedding day!  If you're unsure of this the photos really say it all!  SO wonderful!  I've been converted!  So watch out brides, I'm going to do some serious first look convincing on ya!  ;)

Another fun part of this wedding, the details!  They did a super job, and it's pretty much all DIY!  Love it!  Please note that they did not even rent out a venue!  Quiet honestly, this is my type of wedding: simple, but gorgeous!  One of my favorite details are the engagement photos.  They took Kristen's stunning photos from their engagement session (HERE) and placed the prints in jars with ribbons on each of the tables!

And as I said before, as the vows came to a conclusion, and the two were pronounced man and wife, God painted a beautiful rainbow in the sky behind them.

I hope you enjoy these shots!  I know I thoroughly enjoyed shooting them!
Have a fantastic afternoon!

- Little Bit Of Cactus Cooler -

Well Hello!
So over the past couple of days I have been working and hanging out with my friend Kristen Booth.  I flew in on Wednesday after classes, then Yesterday we spent the WHOLE day working.  Like sitting our on computers editing, updating, creating, and things of the like.  Around the middle of the day we took a break to get some groceries and to my utter delight Kristen LOVES salt and vinegar chips just as much as I do!!  Yes!!  Thus our trip resulted in two bags of salt and vinegar chips, as well as a California soda called Cactus Cooler.  Kristen was bound and determined to introduce me to this unique drink.  Love it!  We downed the whole thing...it's a good think were going to be up and about all weekend to work that off!  ;)

Today is going to be one of our adventure days.  We are going to take a few photos of each other and Kristen is going to introduce me to CA a bit more.  Then, tomorrow is wedding time!  We will be heading out at 8:00am and shooting our hearts away.  After that wedding we will revamp and then head out for another Wedding Sunday.  Love it!

But any way...right now I'm going to have my first burger at in-and-out, see a little more of Southern CA, and enjoy this mini vacation!

Have a lovely day everyone, God Bless!

- One Year Ago Today: The Interns -

One year ago today was the last day of The Interns program with Sarah Barlow.  Looking back on that time just brings joy and thankfulness!  It was such an amazing week and I learned so much from Sarah and from the other interns, Kay, Shannon, and Kristen.  To see my wrap up post from last year click HERE, to see Sarah wrap up post click HERE.
I still keep in contact with all of them, and love to see how they are all using their talents in amazing ways!  I love you all and thank you for what has been one of the best weeks of my life!  :)

God Bless,
Megs

The Interns

Hey all!
So as many of you know, I went to Nashville for a photography internship this past month (april).  It was put on by the fabulous Sarah Barlow, and let me tell you, it was wonderful!  There were three other interns (introductions below), and they were all SUPER awesome (like intimidating awesome!) photographers!  They were all so sweet, and amazing to learn with.  So without boring you with more letters put into word form, let me provide you with official introductions!
Sarah Barlow!
Sarah is the creator of The Interns and she basically lets us live in her house and she pours into us for 6 days of intense learning and fun.  She taught me so much, and we had fun the WHOLE time!  Interning with her was definitely the best thing ever!   She is so talented and was able to pass on her skills and knowledge to all of us interns.  She was great with the models and really showed us how to interact with our clients, as well as just having fun with them!  Sarah is a great teacher, photographer and just in general an awesome person.  Thanks so much Sarah, and may God bless you for living out your gifts and passing them on to others!
Jazz! (actually, she's not an intern...)
I cannot mention Sarah without saying nothing about her awesome friends as well!  Jazz, well she was....SO GREAT!  She would just randomly pop in and say hey, and when we needed a model she took on the job with the absolute BEST fake laugh ever!  All of Sarah's friends rocked and were all very talented.  They all seemed to do something related to art, whether it be music, photography, modeling, and everything in between.  They were all so beautiful too!  :)
Shannon Morse!
She is so fabulous!  Not only does she have wonderful style (I love the look she is taking on for her business), but she also has an amazing eye for photography.
It was funny how Shannon was quiet(ish) at the beginning of the internship and then by the end she was a crazy person! :) I loved getting to know Shannon and can't wait to see how far she goes with her photography.
Love you Shannon!
Kay!
She was the very first intern that I met, which was very cool because we both learned about The Interns the same way...through BarlowGirl and through basically stalking Sarah (we love you Sarah!).  Kay is a super sweet girl and I had so much fun learning with her and from her.  She is a great photographer and she's only 16 (like me...except WAY better!).
Love you Kay!
Kristen!
Oh goodness....Where to begin!  I think I could write a novel about all the funny and crazy things that Kristen did in the Ville.  We recorded a song called are you serious...it was all her really...now every time I here someone say, "Are you serious" I cannot help but crack a grin!  Oh and we had fun singing Demi Lovato and The Jo Bros together....yea....On a more "serious" note Kristen is a wonderful photographer!  She is so great with the clients and has a great business already up and thriving.  She has been a great help to me and I just have to say thanks!
Love you Kristen!
Hanging out after Starbucks and Sweet Ce Ce's
We were hummus addicts!  We ate at least one package of hummus a day, then we would buy a new one and it would be gone in ten minutes!
Kristen and Sarah drinking apple cider vinegar tea.  Yum.  Not. :)
Sarah's Place, so beautiful!

Well thanks for spending time looking at my blog.  Have a fabulous day and live it out to the full!
